Chassis:
The very first Hesketh, chassis 308/1 was debuted by James Hunt in the 1974 Race of Champions at Brands Hatch. After two retirements, Hunt drove the car to a victory in the Daily Express International Trophy race at Silverstone. It then mainly served as a T-car. At the start of the 1975 season it was sold to Harry Stiller, who entered the car for a young Alan Jones. He finished no higher than seventh. During the 2000s, the modified 308 was restored back to its 1974 specifcation by B.S. Fabrication. It has since been campaigned in historic events on both sides of the Atlantic. It has now been consigned to the May 10th RM Auctions Monaco sale where it is estimated to sell for EUR 350,000 - 650,000.
