According to Spitz' history of Talbot, "In 1953 Lago Grand Sport no. 110 105 made its fifth and last appearance at the Sarthe circuit. Chambas had again significantly improved the bhp produced by the engine by better tuning of the superchargers. Zenith carburettors were now replaced by Solex. At 4,500 rpm it put out 240 bhp, nearly as much as the works racing 2AC engines with twin ignition. After this preparation, the car was a lot quicker and Chambas, who was joined by C. de Cortanze as co-driver, hoped to spring a further surprise. Unfortunately some two hours and ten minutes into the race, Chambas spun in the Tertre Rouge series of bends. The car was only slightly damaged at the front but ended up facing the wrong way and Chambas could not take the risk of attempting a U-turn. So he drove some 2 kms in reverse, but too quickly with the result that he damaged the pre-selector gearbox, probably due to inadequate lubrication under these conditions. For the first time in five years the Lago Grand Sport retired before the end of the 24 Hours."

So if the car is again "naturally aspirated" when were the blowers removed ? The logical time would seem to be when the coupe body was re-instated.
An exact replica of the barquette body has been reconstructed on 110110.
