38.1mpg (6,17 l/100km) on the last tank. Been running an UltraGauge since Christmas, it's just now getting properly calibrated. Even with the automatic transmission it's a pretty reliably efficient automobile.

Well damn. If my Ultragauge is to be belived, so far I am hauling in 41,1mpg (5,72l/100km). Not bad...

So I've been driving to school recently and I haven't been doing so great mpg wise...
The 1995 TL is getting about 21 mpg. My dad tells me that's on par...
The 2004 Forester got 18 mpg, but to be fair, I drove it through the aftermath of Nemo, so a lot of snow and stop and go traffic for a good 3 hours.
Never realized how expensive driving can be- filled up 3 times in the last 4 weeks or so, almost $50 per fill up.
Yeah, even my Echo is costing $40 to fill up. Then again I fill all the way up to the cap to ensure consistent fillups everytime which usually adds about a gallon. Yeah, I know topping off is technically illegal. Call the cops on me.

That's nothing.
It recently cost me 68€ to fill up my car, which is about $91.
And my car hasn't got big fuel tank and because it has no trip computer and an awful fuel gauge I've never been able to put more than 41-42 litres in it (when theoretical fuel tank capacity is 50 litres).
Also earlier this year it cost us 101€ to fill up the Jag's fuel tank in Italy. That's about $135.
I'm even considering getting a diesel of some sort just for the fuel costs...

I know gas is expensive elsewhere- it's just that I remember when gas was under $2.00 a gallon. That would have cut my cost in half.
Thing is, I never drove regularly before so I never had to fill up. It's like paying for a video game every time I fill up- a new PS3 game is about $60 new.
When I started driving, a gallon of dino juice was around $1,30/g. $20 would fill 'er up.

Life's too short to drive bad cars.
5 speed. Not built for efficiency.. and I don't ride it super gently. Also mine is still carburetted.

Ah, that 'splains it.
Triumph says 43/57mpg (5.5/4.2 L/100km) for the fancy injected modern one.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
A full tank on a Mercedes-Benz A220 CDI.
828km and 46,5 litres of diesel.
Result: 5,6l/100km (50mpg UK / 42mpg US).

That's only true to a point- my garage in Gran Turismo 5 is probably 2-3 times larger than Jay Leno's, I don't ever have to service or pay insurance for my cars, and I never need to pay for gas.
That's quite awesome!
I think Coolieman1220 has gotten around 40 mpg out of the BMW 335d, if not more and he doesn't exactly baby the BMW either.
I actually don't find it that impressive. I wouldn't say it is disappointing since I wasn't expecting much, but it's not exactly a frugal diesel, this.
Of those 828km, at least 700-750 (between 430 and 465 miles) of them were spent on dual carriageways and main A-roads with speeds between 90 and 130km/h (55-80 mph) trying to be as constant and as smooth as possible.
The rest were split between city and some corners.
It probably should've done better, however it has to be considered that the car is practically brand new.
