The coupe bodies had lower drag figures which should lead to higher top speeds but a big negative side-effects was a lot of lift created by the new bodies. This made the Fixed Head DB3S racers very unstable at higher speeds and the works project was binned and the two coupes rebodied as roadsters.

Three of the production cars were also fitted with a coupe body, all slightly different. These were not quite as powerful as the works racers so the lift wasn't a big issue. Of the three Fixed Head production cars one was recently rebodied to roadsters but the other two still exist.

This Coupe was photographed taking part in the Concours d'Elegance of the 2002 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
