Page 1 of 1 This is the Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG F1, the official pace car for the 2000 and 2001 F1 seasons. The CL55 replaced the CLK55 AMG that served for the previous two years. The main difference between the pace car and the normal road car are the brakes and seats, racing seats with 4-point harness belts were fitted. To ensure the CL55 AMG F1 has race car brake quality it has specially developed 8-piston fixed calliper disc brakes and 380 mm brake discs at the front and 315 mm discs at the rear. The track is also widened and it is fitted with the unique ABC suspension that minimises body roll. Page 1 of 1
