Chassis:
The first of three works Porsche 936s built, this chassis was raced from the start to the finish of the program debuting at the Nürburgring in 1976 and retiring from active duty after finishing 12th in the 1981 24 Hours of Le Mans. The best result on its tally was the outright victory at Le Mans in 1977. Today it is the only 936 in private hands and after lengthy American ownership, it is now part of the collection of a British-based Brazilian historic racer. He had it restored to its 1978 configuration, retaining the rare water-cooled 24-valve heads. In this guise, he raced the car in the 2012 Le Mans Classic. More recently, it was restored again to its 1977 Le Mans winning configuration by specialists Maxted-Page. At the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it was demonstrated by Jacky Ickx.
