Chassis:
Chassis 936-003 was the final works car built and was not pressed in service until the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans. Here it sadly failed to finish due to an accident after starting from pole position. There was better luck in 1981 when in 'Jules' livery, it was driven from first on the grid to victory by Le Mans legends Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell. Retained by Porsche, this 936 was on long time loan to the Musee National de l'Automobile or Schlumpf Collection. In more recent years, it has been returned to full running order and was demonstrated at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed where Derek Bell's career was celebrated.
