Chassis:
Completed in february of 1938, chassis 90111 was the first of three Cabriolet bodies built on the T150C chassis by Figoni & Falaschi. Early in its life, the striking machine was in French ownership. Along with one of the other two Figoni & Falaschi Cabriolets (90115), which had its original coach-work replaced by a competition body, it was part owned by Lino Fayen and M Leroy. For reasons unknown, the chassis numbers were switched and this was not rectified until 2009 following extensive research by Claude Figoni.
In the second half of the 1950s, the Figoni & Falaschi Cabriolet became part of the 50-car collection assembled by Vojta Mashek in Chicago. Honouring, the car's competition roots, Mashek even raced the car in vintage events. He passed away in 1972 but his family retained the car until 2008 when the current owner acquired it. It was entrusted soon after to RM Restorations for a ground-up restoration. The work was completed in time for the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it won its class. In November of 2013, it will be offered by RM Auctions and Sotheby's in the highly anticipated 'Art of the Automobile' sale.
