Chassis:
The penultimate 911 Carrera RSR prototype built in 1973, this example was first raced at the Nurburgring 1000 km. In the hands of Herbert Muller and Gijs van Lennep, it finished fifth overall. A few weeks later, the same pairing placed 'R7' a very impressive fourth overall in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sold to Brumos, it was raced to seventh in the Watkins Glen 6 Hours and to ninth in the Can-Am race a day later. This was the only time that what was effectively a GT car competed in a Can-Am race. It was subsequently acquired by Hector Rebaque and briefly raced. From 1977 it had been in the same collection, until it was acquired recently by the current owner; a prominent Porsche collector. In 2023, it was consigned to headline the annual Bonhams Goodwood Revival sale.
