Chassis:
The second 512 BB LM built, this example was sold new to Luigi Chinetti's North American Racing Team (NART). It debuted at the 1979 Daytona 24 Hours where it failed to finish. It was then raced at Le Mans and again at Daytona in 1980, where chassis 26683 again failed to finish. It was then sold to Preston Henn, who drove the car at Le Mans and Daytona. Following a spell in The Netherlands during the second half of the 1980s and early 1990s, it returned to American ownership in 1994. Among the subsequent owners was noted collector Charles T. Wegner and Paul Facella, who would go on to own the car for nearly two decades. In 2017, it was acquired by a French historic racer. He has since brought it out for select events.
