Chassis:
Completed towards the end of 1979, the 512 BB LM was sold new to Italian racer Fabrizio Violati. It was fielded in the 1980 Monza 1000 km and 24 Hours of Le Mans by Scuderia Supercar Belancauto. Sadly, it failed to finish at either race, retiring at Monza with engine damage and then crashing out at Le Mans. Retained by Violati, the car was displayed in his Maranello Rosso museum until it was acquired by French historic racer Francois Degand in 1999. He raced the car in the Ferrari Historic Challenge before selling it on to another French racer in the second half of the 2000s. He has continued where Degand left off and regularly races the BB LM in historic events like the Le Mans Classic.
