Chassis:
British gentleman driver Simon Phillips ordered this 512 BB LM ahead of the 1981 season. He entered the car in the Silverstone 6 Hours and 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he raced with Mike Salmon and Steve Earle as co-drivers. Sadly, the car failed to finish on both occasions with mechanical issues. In 1982, the trio of drivers was back out in the Silverstone 1000km where they finished an impressive second in class. Not raced in an international event again, it had just a handful of owners before it was acquired by a Swiss collector in 2005. It has since been raced extensively in historic events. There has been a lot of speculation about just who or what the 'Sheila Wong Chong' on the nose of the car is. As far as we understand, it is actually the name of original owner's Simon Phillips his wife.
