Chassis:
The featured TZ2 is a great example of how the second generation continued the TZ's winning ways. Entered by Belgian Count Rudy van der Straten's Team VDS and driven by Teddy Pilette and Serge Trosch drove the pictured chassis 116 to victory in the 1967 Nürburgring 1000 km and Reims 1000 km. After its contemporary racing career, it was successfully campaigned in many of the most important historic races. In the summer of 2005, it was offered in the Bonham's auction at the Quail Lodge. Reportedly the pre-auction estimate was $2.0 million, but at the auction offers failed to meet the reserve set. It was later seen back in action at the Monterey Historic Races.
