Chassis:
One of the final Cunningham C-3s built, this example was delivered new to a Dr. Kane of New York in 1954. Sadly, he could enjoy the car only briefly as he passed away a few years later. The same could certainly not be said of the subsequent owner, an airline mechanic from the Boston Massachusetts area. He acquired the car from Dr. Kane's estate through a local dealer and enjoyed the car for many summers before putting it in storage. Not used for many years, it was finally retrieved by an enthusiastic mechanic in 1998. He set about carefully restoring the highly original car. He took his time and the car was not ready until eight years later. In 2009, it was consigned to Gooding's Pebble Beach auction but unfortunately offers failed to meet the reserve set.
