Chassis:
One of Cunningham's first customers was Mercury Marine owner and NASCAR team owner Carl Kiekhaefer. He acquired the prototype C-3, which was fitted with the American coachwork but he soon traded it in for this car, the very first Vignale bodied Cunningham. Most likely for tax purposes both cars used 5206 as the chassis number, although the 'West Palm Beach Coupe' has since been renumbered 5206X to avoid further confusion. The car was painted in a two-tone finish of blue and beige. In 1960, it was sold Jack Woods, who in turn sold half his stake to Gerry Holland in 1980 to finance a complete restoration. They only got halfway through when the car was found by Tom Armstrong in 2004. He finally completed the work and showed the first Cunningham C-3 Vignale Coupe at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It has since changed hands again.
