Chassis:
The second Touring Berlinetta bodied 212 Export, chassis 0108E was delivered new to first owner Dr. Giorgio Fassio in April of 1951. He sold the car within a year and the new owners entered the car in the 1952 Mille Miglia where they failed to finish. The car changed hands twice again before being shipped to the United States in 1957. Here it was fitted with an easier to run Chevrolet V8 engine and gearbox. In 1965, the 212 Export was acquired by Tom Caulfield, who eventually managed to reunite it with the original V12 engine. During the 1990s, it was shown at various events with considerable success. In 1997, it was badly damaged in a garage fire. The car was eventually reconstructed and brought to Pebble Beach in 2012, where it won first in class.
