Chassis:
The penultimate 212 Export clothed by Touring with the 'Barchetta' bodywork, chassis 0136E was sold new to Irish racer Robert Baird in the fall of 1951. He immediately entered his new Ferrari in the Tourist Trophy at Dundrod where he finished 6th overall and first in the 3-litre class. Baird continued to race the car on the British Isles well into the 1953 season. It eventually ended up in South America where it made a one-off appearance at the Buenos Aires 1000km in 1956.
Lost for many years, it was eventually retrieved in Uruguay by a British enthusiast. It was restored with a 250 GT engine and used in historic events during the 1990s. The current owner acquired chassis 0136E in 1999 and has since reunited it with the original 212 engine. Beautifully restored, it was shown for the first in many years at the 2013 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
