Chassis:
Completed in the fall of 1948, chassis 0002M was the very first 166 MM Touring Barchetta. Built for that year's Turin Motor Show, it was more luxuriously appointed than the subsequent competition cars. Following its show duties, the prototype was acquired by Thomas S. Lee. Following his suicide in 1950, the car passed into the hands of his financial advisor, Willett Brown. He retained the car until his death in 1995. It was later sold at auction and joined a prominent American collection that today also includes the Le Mans winning 166 MM.
