Chassis: 0563GT
One of the last of the first generation 250 GT Competiziones built, this example was sold new to French privateer Jacques Peron. Finished in light blue with a French tricolore stripe, it was immediately entered in the Tour de France where Peron placed eighth overall. He continued to campaign the car in national and international events until 1958, scoring several wins and also placing fifth in the 1957 Tour de France. After being returned to the factory, chassis 0563GT was sold to the United States late in 1959. It has remained in American hands ever since and was restored by Bob Smith during the 1990s. The most recent owner acquired it in 2009 and has shown and exercised it at events on both sides of the Atlantic, most recently at the 2014 Tour Auto retrospective.
