Liveried in the Madagascan racing colours of white with a green and red stripe, this Interim Berlinetta was sold new to Jo Schlesser. He fielded it in the Tour de France but sadly missed a bridge and his effort ended in a river. Repaired, the car was raced with considerable success by Schlesser during the 1960 season before it was replaced by a 250 GT SWB. The subsequent Swiss owners continued to campaign chassis 1509GT for several more seasons. Later in its life, the Interim Berlinetta was acquired by Bernard Costen, who owned it for nearly 30 years. The current custodian has since 2001 campaigned the rare machine in select events.
