Chassis:
After a brief sojourn in Austria, chassis 3527GT was acquired by Lucien Bianchi from the factory in the summer of 1962. He placed seventh in the Tour de France, despite hitting a milk truck and later in the year won the Angolan Grand Prix outright. It was then sold to a Swiss privateer racer, who successfully campaigned it in minor events. In 1965, chassis 3527GT was modified by coach-builder Graber for road use by adding a more luxurious interior, front bumperettes and VW Transporter tail lights. Suitably registered '6 GTO' during the 1970s, it was owned for many years by Stephen Pilkington, who had the Graber modifications removed. He sold the car to a fellow British collector in 2005.
