Chassis:
Completed in June of 1962, chassis 3647GT was destined for the British Bowmaker racing team. It was raced for the team by John Surtees, who suffered a big accident at Goodwood in August. Rebuilt, it was sold to a France-based, Russian Prince, who campaigned it at select events until another major accident at Goodwood, a year later almost to the day, required a second rebuild. It was later raced in minor Italian events, until it was sold to the United States through Italy-based designer Tom Meade. The current custodian acquired the car in 1967, making it the longest living owner of a 250 GTO after Fabrizio Violati (3851GT) passed away.
