French privateer racer Fernand Tavano was the original owner of this 250 GTO, which was finished in silver with a blue stripe. He raced the car mostly in French events, winning on occasion. Late in 1963, it was sold to fellow Frenchman Sylvain Garant, who would go on to race the car until October of 1966. During the following years, it passed through various hands until it was bought by Dutch enthusiast Paul F. Schouwenburg. He retained the car until the early 1990s when it was sold to the current, New York-based owner, who had it restored to its original colour scheme.
