Chassis:
Finished in striking silver paintscheme, this 250 GTO was sold to the Switzerland-based Scuderia Filipinetti. They fielded the car for several drivers during the 1962 and 1963 seasons. The biggest success came at the 1962 Coupe de Salon at Montlhery where Edgar Berney and Jean Gretener finished second in class. Its subsequent French owners, continued to campaign the car until well into the 1967 season. During the early 1970s, it was acquired by the Harrison brothers, who would go on to sell it for GBP 10 million to a Japanese collector in 1989, making it the most expensive car sold at the time. After passing through several more hands, it was acquired by the current, American owner in 2000.
