Chassis:
Finished in silver with a French tricolore band over the centreline, this 250 GTO was first raced at Le Mans in 1963 by owner Pierre Dumay and 'Elde'. They finished second in class and fourth overall. It was subsequently sold to the Ecurie Francorchamps and the tricolore was replaced by a Belgian racing yellow band across the nose. Its biggest success came in 1964 when it was driven to outright victory in the Tour de France by Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger. Following its contemporary racing career, it has been in Swiss, Spanish, French and German hands. The current, German owners, acquired it in 2003. After campaigning and showing the car for many years in the Belgian racing colours, it has been returned to its original 'French' livery in 2015.
