Chassis:
Another 250 GTO sold to Count Volpi, this example was first raced by Carlo Maria Abate and Lucien Bianchi in the 1963 Tour de France. They finished an impressive second overall. The following season, it was raced by Fernand Tavano, who won several local events with car before donating it to the driving school of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). They in turn sold the car to Pierre Bardinon in 1967 and he retained it until 1996. At one point during this period, he owned as many as three GTOs at once. It has since changed ownership several times, most recently for a reputed $32 million.
