The final 1962/63 specification 250 GTO produced, this example was sold new to to Jean Guichet late in 1963. Partnering with compatriot Jean Behra, the Frenchman promptly won the Tour de France outright. He also won his class at the Coupes de Salon and finished first in class at the 1964 Chamrousse hillclimb. Following another class win at Chamrousse in 1965, Guichet sold the car to the United States. Between 1974 and 2008, it has been in the ownership of Ferrari enthusiast Paul Pappalardo, who extensively showed and raced the car events on both sides of the Atlantic.
