Chassis:
Completed late in 1948, this Maserati 4CLT was sold new to the Automovil Club Argentino and finished in the national racing colours of blue and yellow. Run by Scuderia Achille Varzi, it was raced by Juan Manuel Fangio during the 1949 season. It was then brought back to Argentina, where it was campaigned for several more years by Fangio. It disappeared from sight until it was re-discovered in 2002. Now owned by a prominent Argentinean collector, chassis 1599 has been lovingly restored to its original guise.
