Chassis:
The eighth of ten Maserati 4CLTs produced in 1949, this chassis is understood to have been sold to Italian gentleman racer Piero Carini. He reportedly entered the car in the 1950 San Remo Grand Prix where he started 10th on the 20-car grid. He failed to reach the finish after he spun off and stalled the engine on the 25th lap. Carini raced a Maserati 4CLT in more events that year but we do not know if that is this car as well. Owned today by a German collector and historic racer, it is regularly campaigned at events like the Goodwood Revival.
