Chassis:
Through Ferrari works Formula 1 driver Froilan Gonzales, this 225 Sport or Export was sold new to Argentinian gentleman racer Angel Maiocchi. One of the first Ferraris sold to Argentina, it was fitted with a unique Spyder body by Vignale. It stood out because of its scalloped and louvered flanks. Maiocchi was a true gentleman and cherished the unique Ferrari, which is perhaps why no notable results were scored in his 30-odd outings. He even went as far as to instruct his co-driver not to exceed 5,000 rpm. Maiocchi finally sold the 225 Export at the end of the decade and after several Argentinian owners, it eventually ended up in the United States in 1982. Rarely seen since, it was meticulously restored ahead of the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
