Chassis:
Originally completed as a regular production road car in 1970, this car spent its early life in Italy. Here it was acquired in 1976 by Swedish Ferrari distributor Ulf Broman with an eye on converting it to full Group 4 specification. The larger than life figure was a factory trained mechanic and during his time in Italy had received the nickname 'Barbarossa' for his red beard. Using components sourced at Michelotto, Broman rebuilt the Daytona as soon as it arrived in Sweden and painted it in the national racing colours. He would go on to race the car extensively well into the 1980s in national events but also outside of Scandinavia and as far away as the Bahamas. During the mid-1980s, it was sold to the United States where it was campaigned in historic events. More recently, it joined a British collection and the new custodian has continued to race the car extensively.
