Chassis:
Completed in 1965, this Type 38 was originally fitted with symmetrical suspension. It was used by Jim Clark the St Ursanne and Ollon-Villars hillclimbs. For the 1966 season, this car was readied for Clark to campaign in the Indy 500. The 1965 winner qualified and finished second. The car was then sold to AJ Foyt, who immediately crashed it. Following extensive repairs at Lotus, it was sent back to the United States. The ex-Clark Lotus then served as the basis for one of Foyt's Coyotes. Among the subsequent owners was dealer Chuck Haines, who discovered the roots of this car. It was then restored to its original Team Lotus configuration.
