Damon Hill used chassis FW16-05 for the second half of the season. He scored all five of his 1994 wins in this car. Among them was the rain-soaked Japanese Grand Prix, where he put in one of the finest drives of his career. This was also the chassis Hill used in the infamous coming together with Michael Schumacher in the decisive Australian Grand Prix.

Williams Grand Prix Engineering retained the car until it was offered in the Williams Reserve auction to be held by Bonhams late in 2005. Ahead of the sale a very enthusiastic collector agreed to buy all the lots in sweep and the auction was canceled. Celebrating 40 years of Frank Williams in Formula, it is seen here at the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Chassis FW16-05 was piloted up the hill by, among others, designer Adrian Newey and David Coulthard.
