Chassis:
The second to last McLaren F1 built, this example was originally finished in AMG Green with a two-tone cream and green interior. The first owner specified that the car remain at McLaren's facility in Woking. While still in the hands of the original owner, it was extensively upgraded by what is now known as McLaren Special Operations (MSO). Among the changes was the installation of the 680 bhp, LM-specification version of the V12 engine and enlarged radiators. Chassis 073 was also fitted with a host of other upgrades, including the high downforce package. Refinished in a striking metallic orange, it also received F1 LM-inspired interior tweaks.
In 2003, the extensively upgraded McLaren was sold to a collector in Florida. One of only two F1s fitted with the LM-upgrade, it was sold for close to $14 million by RM Sotheby's during their 2015 Monterey sale from the Pinnacle Collection. Three years later, it was one of the first cars offered by RM Sotheby's Private Sales department for undisclosed amount. Reportedly, the asking price is around $20 million.
