Chassis:
The first JM19C constructed, this was also the first Argo powered by Cosworth DFV V8 engine. It was built for Norwegian privateer racer Martin Schanche, who had previously run a JM19 and JM19B, both powered by Zakspeed four cylinder engines. Schanche ran his Lucky Strike liveried machine throughout the 1988 World Sports Car Championship in the Group C2 class. The best result was a fifth in class at the Jerez season opener. At Le Mans, Schanche, joined by Robin Smith and Robin Donovan finished 25th overall and seventh in class. Schanche retired from sports car racing at the end of the 1988 season and this car was not seen in contemporary events. It has since been prepared for historic racing, first in North America and more recently in Europe, in the hands of an English historic racer.
