Chassis:
Chassis 068 was originally built for an enthusiast who died before taking delivery. Two subsequent owners then tried to get the F1 imported to the United States under the 'Show and Display' arrangement. Both times the car was refused because it did not meet the emission standards. The second owner finally got the McLaren certified and brought it to the United Sates. He sold the F1 on in 2005 to a Costa Rican collector. At the time, the car was still on delivery mileage. Chassis 068 is finished in 'Mercedes-Benz' silver and features a black interior. The centre seat has a polished carbon fibre back and is accented with a discrete purple suede stripe. In two of its very few outings, it is seen here during the 2005 Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance and the 2009 Quail, a Motorsports Gathering.
