Chassis:
Although assigned a works chassis number, this DBR9 was sold to a customer immediately; Harry Leventis. At the time, he was also the owner of the 1959 Le Mans winning Aston Martin DBR1. Between 2006 and 2008, the DBR9 was fielded under the Cirtek Motorsport, Team Modena, EDM Motorsport and Strakka Racing banners in the Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. At the 2008 Le Mans, it was fielded by the Vitaphone Racing Team as the team's Maserati MC12s were not eligible to compete in the race. The car's best result was a class win at the 2006 Donington 1000 Kilometres in the hands of Antonio Garcia and Peter Hardman. In 2007, Hardman and Nick Leventis also finished second overall and first in class in he Vallelunga 6 Hours. Leventis would go to retain the car through to 2019, when it was sold by Duncan Hamilton ROFGO to a British historic racer. It has since been prepared for historic racing by Moto Historics and liveried in the Vitaphone colours as used at Le Mans in 2008.
