Chassis:
Not seen until 2008, this DBR9 was tagged with a works chassis number but was sold new to the American privateer Bell Motorsports team. It was campaigned throughout the 2008 American Le Mans Series season with regular drivers Chapman Ducote and Terry Borcheller joined for the Sebring 12 Hours by works driver Antonio Garcia. Taking the fight to the works Corvettes proved a challenge but chassis DBR9/5 did achieve several class podiums. At the end of the year Bell Motorsports ranked second in the team standings. Raced for a single season only, it was subsequently restored and sold to a private collector. During the early 2010s, it was sold at auction and more recently joined the collection of a Hong Kong-based historic racer. Beautifully prepared by specialists Moto Historics, it returned to the race track in 2022.
