Chassis:
One of only two DBR9s built in 2007, this example was acquired new by Henry Barczynski. He initially had the car fielded by the factory backed Barwell Motorsport in the FIA GT Championship. After two outings, it was entrusted to Gigawave Motorsport and raced with considerable success in the remainder of 2007 and throughout 2008. It scored several third place finishes including at the Spa 24 Hours. In the 2009, it was raced only at the Silverstone 1000 km, where it promptly won its class. Sold to the German Young Driver team, it was then campaigned in the newly founded established FIA GT1 Championship. Success finally came at its very last contemporary outing, at Beijing. In 2010, it also raced at Le Mans, where it finished third in class. Retained by AMR Young Driver through to 2020, it was consigned to the 2023 RM Sotheby’s Le Mans Centenary Sale.
