This American specification Turbo S was delivered new to its first owner in North Carolina at the end of April, 1997 through Porsche Greensboro. A decade later, the car was owned by an enthusiast in Massachussets and had covered 16,610 miles. In December of 2008, it was acquired by a Swiss Porsche fan and formed part of a formidable collection for many years. Early in 2017 and with close to 18,000 miles on the odometer, it was consigned to RM Sotheby's Amelia Island sale with no reserve.
