Chassis:
Chassis 0337AL was the third and final 375 America fitted with a Vignale built coupe body. It was originally painted in a very striking two-tone yellow and displayed at the Turin Motor Show in April of 1954. Through Luigi Chinetti, it was sold to John Shakespeare. At some point the Ferrari V12 was removed and replaced by a Chevrolet V8. In 1999 it was acquired by broker Tom Shaughnessy in a complete state of disrepair. He showed the car at various events, before selling it to the current, Swiss owner in 2007.
He singlehandedly restored the 0337AL to its former glory. He first showed the car during the 2009 Ferrari Club of America National Meet at Watkins Glen. For his fabulous work, he was deservedly awarded with the 'Best of Show'. A few weeks later, the trip to the United States was crowned with a 'Best in Class' at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. He has now decided to part with his labour of love and has consigned it to Gooding & Company's annual Pebble Beach auction.
