Chassis:
Acquired new by Josef Bambring, this customer 935 was entered in the 1977 season for predominantly Jürgen Neuhaus. At its second outing, Formula 1 racer Jochen Mass drove the car to victory in the DRM round at the Nürburgring. During the second half of the year, the car was fielded by Frans Konrad, at times with support from Kremer Racing. Konrad would also take a victory at the Nürburgring that year. It was subsequently raced in a variety of events including several World Championship rounds and in the Daytona 24 Hours. Subsequent owners continued to field the car through to the spring of 1981 when it was damaged in a pit fire at Monza. The car was subsequently rebuilt as a 935 K3. In this guise, it survived for many years away from the public eye. At some point the original car and the papers were separated. For its current Swiss owner, the car was rebuilt to its original configuration by Equipe Europe during the mid-2010s and by early 2018 both the original car and papers had been reunited.
