Chassis:
Completed late in 1951, this was the very last 6C 2500 SS fitted with a Cabriolet body by Pinin Farina. It was delivered new to United States airman stationed in Germany. The car was eventually brought back with him to the United States and in the early 1960s joined the collection of Jefferson, Ohio resident Robert Agle. He stored his reportedly formidable collection away from the limelight in a barn and this 6C 2500 SS was not seen in public until it was acquired by Harold and Judy Johnson in the late 1990s. The two Texans started a restoration and retained the car through to 2009. The next owner had the mechanicals refurbished before entering it in the 2010 Mille Miglia retrospective. The car was subsequently entrusted to a cosmetic restoration with the bodywork entrusted to Italian specialists Luzaggo Brothers and the interior to US upholsterer Mike Lemire. Following the completion of the work, the car was shown at events on both sides of the Atlantic. Early in 2018, it was consigned to the Bonhams Scottsdale auction.
