Chassis:
Through Belgian importer d'Ieteren, this late 904 was delivered new to well known racing driver Edmond Meert. He raced the car extensively in road races and rallies, usually partnering with 'Pedro'. In 1967, it was sold to Frenchman Robert Dutoit, who continued to race the car again with 'Pedro' as his partner. After six seasons during which five outright and two class wins were scored, chassis 904-104 was finally retired from contemporary racing in 1969. The car was immediately sold by Dutoit to accomplished racing driver Bernard Consten. He did race the car but did restore from the silver colour it was painted at the time to the original ruby red. Its fourth owner, Jean-Claude Miloé added the 904 to his formidable Porsche stable in November of 1994. Raced in select historic events since, it is currently fitted with an easier to run six-cylinder engine but the original flat-four remains with the car. Along with three other Porsches from the Miloé collection, the four-owner 904 was consigned to the 2018 Artcurial Retromobile auction.
