Chassis:
One of just 27 examples built, this very rare Cabriolet bodied and 1,588 cc engined 356 A Carrera was completed in March of 1959. It was delivered new to the Porsche distributor in Hannover, Peter-Max Muller. Little is known about its early history but it was eventually discovered in Germany, in the summer of 1991 by French Porsche enthusiast Jean-Claude Miloé. He actually first laid eyes on the car at the Porsche factory where it had just been comprehensively restored for its then owner a Mr Gutsche. Retained by Miloé for nearly three decades, it was regularly used, adding just over 20,000 km on the odometer, which read 40,500 km in 1991. Beautifully maintained and well serviced, chassis 151584 was consigned to the 2018 Artcurial Retromobile sale.
