Chassis:
One of the final three four-cylinder engined Group C cars completed by Toyota ahead of the 1988 season. Finished in the ever striking Taka-Q livery, it was fielded by Toyota Team Tom's during the 1988 season. Among its outings was an entry at Le Mans where Paolo Barilla, Hitoshi Ogawa and Tiff Needell finished a delayed 24th. Before the start of the new season, the car was handed to Dan Gurney's All American Racers to run before the purpose-built AAR Eagle GTP cars were ready. It was raced throughout the 1989 season at IMSA events including the Daytona 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours. The best result was a second place finish at San Antonio with Juan-Manuel Fangio II and Drake Olson at the wheel. Retired from contemporary racing at the end of 1989, it was eventually restored to its original livery and configuration. In 2018, it was shown and sold by the Ascott Collection during the Retromobile shown in Paris.
