Chassis:
The second of two Vignale Cabriolet bodied 212 Exports built, this example was sold new to the Portuguese ambassador in Paris. He did not own the car long and within a year, it was on a ship to the United States. Here it changed hands several times during the 1950s and 1960s. The subsequent owners would hold on to the car a little longer and while in the ownership of German collector Hartmut Ibing, it was completely restored. In 1993, it was acquired from Ibing by American Thomas Steggmann. During his ownership, it was regularly shown in North American events. In 2016, it joined the stable of another noted Ferrari collector. He had the car restored once again and early in 2017, it was awarded best of show at Cavallino Classic.
