Chassis:
First raced at the Monza round of the World Championship in April of 1990, chassis 490 was the third and final XJR-11 built. In the hands of Martin Brundle and Alain Ferté, it finished third overall. The same pairing then won the Silverstone round in front of a partisan crowd. The car then retired at Spa before finishing fifth at Dijon. For the remainder of the year, the XJR-11 was raced as 1090 with a third at the Nürburgring as the best result. For the 1991 season, it was entered in the All-Japan Sports Prototype Championship with Suntec backing and again under the number 490. At the end of the year, 490/1190 was retired from contemporary racing and restored for the TWR museum. During the 2000s, it was extensive raced in the Group C championship before it was completely restored once more by JD Classics in 2010. It was entered for the 2018 Le Mans Classic but it was withdrawn and shortly thereafter sold at the Bonhams Goodwood Revival sale. Now part of the stable of a Dutch historic racer, it returned to the race track in 2020.
