Chassis:
First raced the Silverstone 6 Hours, this was the second all-new 935 Porsche for the 1977 season. Jochen Mass and Jacky Ickx gave the car a stellar debut, converting a pole position in an outright victory. At the subsequent Nürburgring and Le Mans races reliability issue thwarted the car's charge. Mass and Ickx then did go on to win at Watkins Glen and Brands Hatch, starting both races from pole position. At the end of the year, the car was retired from active duty and has since been part of the Porsche Museum collection.
