Chassis:
Although destined for California when the car left the Ferrari factory in January of 1960, this Series II 250 GT was diverted to Belgian distributor Jacques Swaters instead. Through his Grarage Francorchamps, it was acquired new by Theo de Montpellier. It then changed hands several times until it was acquired by Ferrari collector Ennio Gianarolli in 1978. He never registered the car for the road but would own the 250 GT for nearly three decade. The next owner entrusted the car to Carrozzeria Nova Rinascente in March of 2005 for a complete restoration by master restorer Dino Cognolato. The work took four years to complete and the car was awarded the Prix d'Elegance at the Zoute Concours in 2014. In the fall of 2018, it was consigned to the Bonhams sale at the same venue.
